Executive Bio

Brian MacKay – CEO/President/Founder

Brian spent fifteen years in hospitality, managing independent and chain restaurants. In 2005, he changed career paths and began testing software for Intuit, working on both the desktop and online versions of QuickBooks for the US, UK and Canadian markets. In 2009, he left Intuit to join the start-up world with Semanti Corp as a tester and Product Manager for a semantic, social search plug-in.

In mid 2009, Tooq Inc was formed with the intent of helping 0-10 employee small businesses succeed by providing tools that were created with productivity in mind, instead of year over year sales. Without focus, Brian believes it is too easy to continually add features of marginal value in an effort to force recurring sales. With a subscription based model, the best feature possible is simplicity and ease of use.

Brian lives with his wife and son in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
